Oh boy! Netflix has some wicked series under its belt already and a partnership with Guillermo del Toro just feels like absolute bliss… And now we have a nice teaser trailer to get our teeth in to!
The premise is simple… Take 8 original stories written by 8 accomplished horror writers and then turn them over to Guillermo del Toro to turn in to absolute fantasy horror gold.
What could go wrong?
I recon, not a damn thing!
Before we get in to anything else, here are the 8 original stories which will make up this anthology which shares the name of his awesome compilation book from many moons ago. If you’re a fantasy fan it’s a book certainly worth taking a peek at and then treasuring

I’m a big fan of Guillermo del Toro, especially Hellboy which I think is one of my favourite fantasy franchises so I’m very excited for this – I’d love to see a Guillermo del Toro netflix series of Hellboy next to be honest! Let’s make that happen, however before we make some noise for that, this new series looks very exciting indeed!
Quite a lot of the details for the series are still missing so it’s going to be a bit of a surprise as to what happens during the series, which is going to be 8 seemingly separate and unrelated stories which certainly look like there will be some creature feature style horror, some occult content and certainly some haunted house style horror and I have to say that from the trailer it all feels like it comes together very nicely. It doesn’t look like 8 different stories told by 8 different people, but then are we just seeing some of those 8 stories?
There is certainly a lot of mystery behind this series so it’s hard to react to the trailer. It does however look like its a very clean series with no expense spared (there are even a lot of big names involved), which is what we can expect these days from Netflix, so I for one am very excited and can’t wait to see what the series holds!
