What is a Funko Arcade Vinyl Figure?

As of the writing of this post, I would say that the first thing to know about what they are, is an apparent failed Funko line… Purely because they never made any more. As it stands it is purely a Five Night at Freddy’s (FNAF) range made up of just 5 figures, which were announced in the 2018 New York Toy Fair and subsequently released that April and are already vaulted.

Personally I didn’t even know that these existed until I saw them in a TK Maxx in the UK. There were 4 of them, with 3 totally beat up and one box which was ok, and at just £4.99 I was going to buy it until I saw a queue which I kid you not must have been at least 40 m long. Sorry Funko, but this product was not worth waiting that long for! I did of course however take some photos!

As you can see on the back of the box there are 5 characters available which are:

  • Toy Freddy
  • Nightmare Freddy
  • Plushtrap
  • Foxy
  • Golden Freddy (which is the one I saw in the shop)

I have to say that I do kinda regret not queuing up for him because it is quite a cool figure and because it was such a limited run for the full range it would be nice to have one in my collection. To be honest though, other than changing the design of the box I’m not sure exactly what the point of these figures as a whole new product line was – from the box size to the slightly oversized heads on these cute vinyl figures, they’re essentially Funko pop figures.

They’re not worth a huge amount with the PPG at the moment for the cheapest one (Foxy) being £7 and the most expensive one (Plushtrap) being £20, and as they’re not pops, I can’t see that the value is exactly going to go through the roof for these. I would say that just looking at it the figure itself looked like a really nice quality product and worth that money, but the box, even though it was only slightly different didn’t feel as high quality or expensive as a pop box. I think because there is a much bigger window they have had to use a thicker card which I always feel can make figures in the box feel a bit more cheap or amateurish.

Cute little product range you don’t see very often though!
